It’s Tuesday and you know what that means?? It’s going to be a great day!

In honor of Mental Health Month I’ll be sharing some facts and personal experiences as it relates to mental health. I’ll also be sharing why YOU should be into mental health.

Let’s get to it by starting with a baseline definition of mental health as defined by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Mental Health is a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.

A person’s mental health includes the following:

  • How they handle stress
  • Managing emotions
  • How they relate to other people
  • Decision making
  • Perception of the world
  • Sense of purpose in life

So in Keta terminology, Mental Health= Me+Me+Life. That’s it, nothing super complicated but complex nonetheless. Our overall well-being is a reflection of our mental, physical and spiritual well-being. We can’t have one without the other and it can be difficult to function at our best when any part of our lives are out of whack.

You deserve to live your best life at all times. So take inventory, assess how you are really feeling, or what’s stressing you out. If you are not into your own mental health, get into it! #MentalHealthMonth #BloggersForMentalHealth #IntoMentalHealth
